Students will examine ethical research challenges and will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of quantitative and qualitative methods, including correlation, survey, grounded theory, ethnographic, narrative and phenomenological. Students will learn research search strategies and will consider ways to incorporate reliable studies into their practices.
Students will be able to :
- Utilize those websites and organizations specializing in sexuality research to access topics of interest.
- Identify the major historical sex researchers and describe their contributions to the field.
- Discuss the limitations and difficulties particular to sex research.
- Compile a resource list relevant to specialty area of sexual disorder treatment.
- Use an understanding of sex aids enhance therapeutic interventions.
- Utilize research in creating a case study scenario.
- Critique research in journals and from the internet.
- Conceptualize a case study for presentation.

Present a case study incorporating two to three validated treatment interventions.
- Compare and contrast the different interventions and support the best for the case.
